The first track on Jean-Luc Ponty’s album “Individual Choice” from 1983 is called “Computer Incantations For World Peace”.
I heard this track the first time when I was in Los Angeles in 1990 and it blew my mind. The track is built around some really wonderful synth arpeggios and to me it is almost hypnotic. I first heard this track playing on some really nice Bose speakers which probably enhanced the overall first impression.
I can still remember the listening room and when one of the sales persons came in and asked if we liked the sound. He then opened up the front of these large fake speakercabinets and inside these small Bose cubes were standing. I must say that it was very impressive. Now, I do not know much about hifi but it sounded very good to me. In fact that track made such an impression on me that I had to ask what it was and then I got the album in the next record shop I found.
Jean-Luc Ponty is a violinist playing on both the rock and jazz scene. He has played with artists like Frank Zappa, Elton John and the Mahavishnu Orchestra.

A magic sound, brilliant atmosphere, good feelings, memories.
