My new stereo amplifier for the living room has arrived and is ready for pick up tomorrow. I am really looking forward to get this home and connect it. I got a really good deal on this second hand Onkyo A-9211 and in my eyes it is just beautiful.
One feature which is very much appreciated is the phono input. Finally I will be able to connect my record player and enjoy some vinyl.
I have an Ariston Q-Deck which I have not used yet. I bought it from a friend a couple of years ago. But while reading about this amplifier, on the excellent Swedish website www.prisjakt.nu, I came across a Pioneer record player called PL-512. It looks so good together with the Onkyo amplifier that I am actually considering replacing the Ariston. This might be a serious case of “downgrading”, but sometimes ignorance is bliss.
Maybe I should also consider the fact that this particular Pioneer record player is 30 years old. It might be cheap to buy these days but very hard to find? I will investigate that more later.
I have one much more urgent fact to consider… I do not have any speakers!
I think it is beautiful hardware and it has more function to use.
